For the welfare of disabled persons or sick persons, the Ex-prime minister of the government of Pakistan has started a program named Ehsaas Humqadam Program. This program provides an unconditional cash transfer to needy people for their social or financial support. Persons with disabilities often depend on others to meet their financial or basic needs. In Punjab, there is a little support available for PWDs, but there is a gap in financial coverage and also limited to one-time or annual support.
The government of Punjab has a huge budget for the Ehsaas Humqadam program. Cash assistance of 12000 RS will be given to disabled persons. Applicants who are disabled but they can work are provided with 4/3 part of the total amount. Those who are fully handicapped are provided with 2000 Rs cash to meet their basic or financial need.
